CURIOSITY SPARKS INVENTION
Our
founder Angelo Rotondi was always curious of
how things worked. He demonstrated an aptitude for invention
early in life. At the age 9 he built a soapbox derby
car and took the prize for "Best Construction."
He spent his teens in garages working on classic muscle
cars of the 60s and 70s. Later he built a Sterling kit
car loaded with unconventional extras. It had a P.A.
system, a telescopic steering wheel, but it seemed to
be missing doors. The driver got in or out of the car
by activating an electro-hydraulic roof-hatch. His unique
vehicle was featured at the World of Wheels Show and
went on to be featured in Engineering Magazine.
In
1976 Angelo graduated from Purdue University with a
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Angelo spent his early career problem solving and applying
his technical, scientific, and mathematical knowledge
to design and inventions for a wide array of machines,
parts, tools and other objects.
In 1998 Frankfort Machine and Tool, Inc. was
born of an entrepreneurial spirit. FMT was
founded on determination, a solid work ethic and a curiosity
of what-could-be. For 15 years FMT has been helping
it's customers problem solve and develop and create
products.
Since
our beginning we've participated and wide variety of
projects, with a diverse array of applications.
We've made parts for Fuel Cells, Medical Instruments,
